Although we only met twice and played together for only two sessions, for those two sessions at the Refter in Ubbergen, the Netherlands, there actually was an Amsing Trio.
“We all fall” was recorded during those sessions. The first track “Introduction” was our actual first introduction and the first time we improvised together. Singing in Dutch as well as English (on “We all fall in love sometimes” written by Elton John and also played by Jeff Buckley) or using only the sound of her voice Annemarie Amsing led Paul van Gogh and me to discover new improvisational paths to follow. Listening to “We all fall” now makes me wonder about what would have happened had the Amsing Trio continued down those paths.
